The middle of the YM2 Series, and usually the right one
The YM232 sits between the YM225 and the YM238, and it's where most buyers end up once they've measured the work honestly. Its 31.8-horsepower Yanmar diesel puts 25.5 HP at the PTO, which is the number that matters if you're running a rotary cutter, a tiller, or a snow blower rather than just carrying loads.
The platform is shared across the series: a Synchronized Reverser Transmission with eight forward and eight reverse gears, shifted forward-to-reverse from a lever on the steering column. For loader cycles, that column shuttle is worth more than any spec on the sheet.
What it lifts and pulls
The YL405 loader lifts 1,500 lb at the pivot pin to 88.3 inches, with 2,500 lb of breakout force. The Category 1 three-point hitch is rated 2,205 lb standard and 1,609 lb at 24 inches behind the lift point, so most Category 1 implements are within reach.
Hydraulics run 6.8 GPM to the implement circuit and 4.1 GPM to steering, a step up from the YM225 that matters when you're feeding a loader and a rear implement at once.
Where the extra horsepower goes
Moving from the YM225 to the YM232 buys you 7.4 engine horsepower and 7 PTO horsepower for about 66 lb of extra weight. If your work is loader cycles and light hauling, the YM225 does it. If you're spinning a five-foot cutter through heavy growth, running a tiller, or blowing snow, the YM232 stops working hard and starts working comfortably. That's the whole difference, and it's a real one.
Setting it up your way
Canopy kit, deluxe suspension seat, LED work light, backhoe, single-spool rear remote, and a third-function kit for a grapple are all available. Decide on the third-function kit before delivery if a grapple is anywhere in your plans.
