The most capable tractor Yanmar builds
The YT359C combines the three things that sit at the top of every other model's option list: the largest engine in the range, the i-HMT stepless transmission, and a factory cab with heat and air conditioning. Its 4TNV98C four-cylinder Tier 4 diesel displaces 202.5 cubic inches and makes 58.9 horsepower, with 52 HP at the PTO at working speed.
At 4,442 lb with the cab and full fluids, it has the weight to put that power on the ground.
What the i-HMT does differently
Yanmar's Integrated Hydro Mechanical Transmission splits power between a mechanical path and a hydraulic one. You drive it like a hydrostatic, stepless and clutch-free, but the mechanical share means a higher power transfer ratio and lower fuel consumption than a pure hydrostatic of the same size. Speed is repeatable, shifting is clutch-less, and you can bring the tractor to a stop without a clutch at all.
Three variable-speed ranges cover 0 to 18 mph in both directions.
Working in the cab
The cab is Yanmar-designed with heat and air conditioning rather than a third-party retrofit, so the controls, sight lines, and sealing were laid out together. Inside, the electronic package includes anti-stall, electronic cruise control, auto throttle, an A/B mode for storing two engine and ground speed settings, and a throttle boost button, all reporting to a large LCD display. Loader controls and the third-function switch sit on the joystick.
The loader
The YL610 lifts 2,500 lb at the pivot pin to 113 inches, breaking out at 3,969 lb at the pins. The 72-inch bucket carries 10.9 cubic feet with 88 inches of dump clearance, which clears the side of a dump trailer without a ramp of guesswork. A grille guard is standard.
Hitch and hydraulics
The Category 1 three-point hitch lifts 3,307 lb standard and 2,756 lb at 24 inches behind. Implement hydraulics flow 9.4 GPM with 5.3 GPM dedicated to fully hydraulic power steering, and a rear remote is standard.
