The YP165GW combines a 240-amp DC welder, a 30-gallon air compressor, and a 5,000-watt generator on a single frame driven by one CRX420 key-start engine. For anyone running a service truck or a working farm shop, the appeal is simple arithmetic: one engine to fuel, one to service, one to find room for.
The compressor is the serious part
Plenty of combination units treat the compressor as an afterthought. This one uses a heavy-duty two-stage cast iron pump with bearings on both ends of the crankshaft and needle bearings at the wrist pin, delivering 16 CFM at 175 PSI. That is enough to run air tools continuously rather than in short bursts while you wait for pressure to recover.
A pilot valve allows continuous operation, so the engine doesn't cycle on and off through a job. Stainless steel flex air lines and vibration isolation mounts address the two things that usually fail first on engine-driven compressors.
Welding and power
240A DC covers most stick work you would do in the field, including repairs on equipment and structural steel. The generator side puts out 5,000 watts through 120V and 220V outlets, driven by an alternator on the engine, so you can run grinders and lights off the same unit you are welding with.
A fully enclosed belt guard and belt tension mounts on all drive belts round it out.
