The SA-Series tractor for rougher ground
The SA425 shares its powertrain with the SA325. Same 23.9-horsepower 3TNV80F three-cylinder diesel, same YL210 loader, same Limited Category 1 hitch. What changes is what it rides on. A larger, more aggressive tire package lifts minimum ground clearance to 9.9 inches and widens the stance, which is what you want when the ground is rutted, sloped, or strewn with the sort of debris that stops a lower machine.
It also carries more mass, 1,830 lb against the SA325's 1,715, and that extra weight reads as stability rather than sluggishness.
SA325 or SA425: which one?
Straight answer, because it's the question we get most. If your work is on maintained ground, a mowed yard, a level drive, a flat barn lot, the SA325 does the same job for less money. If you're crossing pasture, working a slope, or picking through rock and brush, the SA425's clearance and footprint earn their keep. The engine, loader, hitch, and PTO are identical. You're buying the stance.
How much can the SA425 lift?
The YL210 curved-boom loader lifts 1,200 lb at the pivot pin, breaks out at 2,090 lb, and reaches 79 inches at maximum height with a 53-inch bucket. It quick-attaches without tools.
The three-point hitch lifts 1,209 lb at 24 inches behind the lift point with true position control, so rear implements return to a repeatable working depth. The independent PTO makes 18.1 HP at 554 RPM, with a mid-PTO at 2,057 RPM.
Standard equipment worth naming
Two rear remote valves and a 12V outlet come standard, so hydraulic implements and accessories work from day one without a retrofit. Add selectable 4WD, wet-disk brakes, hydrostatic power steering, and dual-range hydrostatic drive with side-by-side pedals.
Choosing your tires
The SA425 is offered with R3 turf or R4 industrial tires. Both are larger than the SA325's equivalents, which is the point of the model. Turf spreads weight across finished ground. Industrial gives a tougher sidewall for gravel and debris.
