Garrett has built turbochargers since 1954, when it fitted the first production turbocharger to a tractor engine. Founded by Cliff Garrett in 1936 as an aerospace company, Garrett went on to supply turbochargers to engine makers around the world, and today Garrett Motion, based in Switzerland, remains one of the largest turbocharger manufacturers. Garrett units are fitted as original equipment on many diesel engines in farm, construction and truck applications.
